For more than 16 years, Ledet has made his home in The Woodlands, Texas, within the greater Conroe and Montgomery County area.
The business chapter reached its close with the sale of Montco. Ledet sold the company to a large company that will continue to grow both the business and its employees, which meant that the company and the people who helped build it would carry on under new ownership. Ledet regards building that company as the professional accomplishment he is most proud of. After the sale, he retired from the power generation and oil and gas infrastructure business.
Retirement opened two new paths. The first was a return to business on different terms. Ledet opened Top Shelf Development, a home and property development company. Its approach is simple: Ledet buys a property, builds homes on it, and sells them, carrying the experience of building an energy business into residential construction.
The second path led back to music. With more time available, Heath Ledet is getting back into the music business in earnest. He is returning to live performance with a focus on festivals and events. He also has a full album of music that has not yet been released, and he plans to share it one track at a time, with a new song each month.
Family and community sit alongside that work. Ledet is a father, and his family is an important part of his life. He owns a ranch in Arkansas, a place to hunt, fish, ride ATV trails, spend time on the lake, hike, and go rock hunting.
Over the years, Ledet has also given back through charitable giving and volunteer work. He has supported the Midland Police Department and its local law enforcement work, United Way and its efforts to strengthen communities through local partnerships, and schools and the education of their students. He has also taken part in a wide range of other charitable and volunteer efforts.
From South Louisiana to The Woodlands, and from music to energy and back again, Heath Ledet now divides his time among his music, Top Shelf Development, his family, and his ranch in Arkansas.
